🚨 Zepti’s Call of Duty Ban Evasion… Fair Play or Fraud? 🕵️‍♂️

Zepti was permanently banned, but there are indications that a method might have been used to reverse this to a temporary ban. Regardless, the lack of accessible information about the account raises suspicions of its authenticity. It’s relatively easy to create new accounts and continue participating in tournaments undetected, especially when supported by streamer friends like Ryda.

In recent months, the Call of Duty community has witnessed the controversial actions of the streamer known as Zepti. Despite being permanently banned from Call of Duty on June 9, 2024, and disqualified from the World Series of Warzone, Zepti has continued to violate the game's Terms of Service (ToS) by evading bans and creating new accounts.

On July 30, 2024, at 4:46 PM, Zepti posted on Twitter about his temporary ban status, stating:

In response, we replied to Zepti on Twitter:

“Living rent-free in your head, huh? 😂 Love it. Oh, and just a heads up—we've got a video of you doing coke on stream too. 🚨 All your evasions since your permanent ban? Yeah, that's still fraud and continued evasion. It’s no L to us; in fact, it gives @FTC a solid reason to crack down on Microsoft for not enforcing the ToS equally for all players. 🧐 And let's talk about that screenshot—it could be anyone's. It doesn’t show your Activision ID or email, so it’s not holding any Ls here and even if it did, Wag went to WSOW. 🤡 Watch out, clown. We're far from done. You’re only helping to make our case stronger. This was never about getting every streamer permanently banned or disqualified. It’s a long game, and we’re playing it for free, so we know it eats you up even more. 🍿👀”

Terms of Service Violations

Since July 30, 2024, Zepti has violated the Call of Duty Terms of Service (ToS) numerous times by evading bans and creating new accounts. Here are the key ToS violations…

  1. Permanent Bans: “Permanent bans are final, and there are ‘no false permanent bans.'” (April 10, 2024)
  2. Ban Evasion: “Activision confirms they are now detecting those who attempt to spoof or make additional accounts to circumvent bans, and will hardware ban users + ban their additional accounts.” (November 12, 2021)
  3. Security Enforcement Policy: “Extreme or repeated violations of the security policy — such as in-game cheating — may result in a permanent suspension of all accounts.” (July 24, 2024)
  4. Circumventing Security: “Any attempt to circumvent our security systems may result in a permanent suspension.”
  5. Use of Unauthorized Software for Cheating/Modding/Hacking: “Any user who utilizes any code and/or software not authorized by Activision that can be used in connection with the game and/or any component or feature thereof which changes and/or facilitates the gameplay or other activity, including to gain an unfair advantage, manipulate stats, and/or manipulate game data, is subject to penalty.”

Zepti's actions are a spit in the face of fair play and constitute fraud. His attempts to evade bans and continue streaming Call of Duty content are clear violations of Activision's policies, and further actions are likely to be taken against him.

Fraudulent Activity

Zepti's continued evasion of bans and creation of new accounts constitutes fraud. According to Activision's Security and Enforcement Policy:

  • Circumventing Security: “Any attempt to circumvent our security systems may result in a permanent suspension.”
  • Use of Unauthorized Software for Cheating/Modding/Hacking: “Any user who utilizes any code and/or software not authorized by Activision that can be used in connection with the game and/or any component or feature thereof which changes and/or facilitates the gameplay or other activity, including to gain an unfair advantage, manipulate stats, and/or manipulate game data, is subject to penalty.”

Zepti's actions not only undermine the integrity of the game but also violate the trust of the gaming community. His attempts to evade bans and continue streaming Call of Duty content are clear violations of Activision's policies, and further actions are likely to be taken against him.

Reinforcing Integrity in the Call of Duty Community

Zepti's persistent violations of the Call of Duty ToS demonstrate a blatant disregard for the rules set forth by Activision. As a community, we must uphold the standards of fair play and integrity, ensuring that all players abide by the same rules. Activision's enforcement of these policies is crucial to maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment for everyone.

Methods to Get Unbanned… Who is Abusing the System?

Despite Activision's public statements asserting the finality of permanent bans, methods to get unbanned from Call of Duty do exist. This raises critical questions: Who is abusing these methods, and how can we distinguish between legitimate and illegitimate bans?

Account Theft Ban Wave and Its Consequences

Recently, a significant ban wave swept through the Call of Duty community. Many players found themselves banned after changing their account information within the last X or Y days. This ban wave was primarily aimed at combating account theft, where stolen accounts were being sold with leveled-up profiles. While this effort to protect the community is commendable, it inadvertently affected many legitimate players who had merely updated their account details.

Correcting the Ban Wave

Activision is aware of the issue and is working to correct it by slowly rolling back the bans and unbanning players who were mistakenly caught in the crossfire. However, not everyone will be unbanned. Players who were genuinely involved in cheating or buying stolen accounts are likely to remain banned.

Unbanning Methods and Potential Abuse

There have been reports of some players successfully getting unbanned through various methods. One such method involves filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Players who believe they were falsely banned are advised to provide all necessary proof in their appeals. This process has reportedly helped some players recover their accounts.

However, this raises a critical issue: how do we know which bans are legitimate and which are not? With methods available to potentially circumvent bans, the integrity of the ban system comes into question. There are concerns that some players might exploit these methods to get unbanned despite having violated the game's terms of service.

Fight For Fair Play

The situation with Zepti and the broader issue of ban evasion highlight a significant challenge for the Call of Duty community. Ensuring fair play and maintaining the integrity of the game requires stringent enforcement of policies and careful scrutiny of unbanning methods. As a community, it is essential to support measures that uphold the standards of fair play and integrity, ensuring that all players abide by the same rules. Activision's commitment to enforcing these policies is crucial for maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment for everyone.
